Our Students

Student profile

McKinna Learning Academy teaches students in grades 1-8 (ages 6-14). Our students are smart, inquisitive children who struggle in traditional classroom settings but excel in our personalized learning environment.

Our students may have any one of the following developmental differences:

  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) — Differences in attention regulation, impulsivity, executive functioning, and activity levels

  • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) — Differences in social communication, sensory processing, interests, and routines

  • Dyscalculia — Difficulties with math and numerical concepts

  • Dysgraphia — Difficulties with writing, spelling, and written expression

  • Dyslexia — Differences in reading and language processing

  • Dyspraxia (developmental coordination disorder) — Challenges with motor coordination and planning

  • Nonverbal learning disorder (visual-spatial processing, motor coordination)

  • Oppositional defiant disorder

  • Other cognitive, developmental, or neurological differences

We also support children with:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Executive functioning disorder
